CE 372: Instruction and Learning Plan
From DixonWiki
[edit] Page Introduction
On this page, I would like to BRIEFLY describe the CE 372 mission.
We accomplish the instruction and student learning outcomes by observing core instructional principles.
The core principles are as follows:
- We strive to establish and achieve clear student learning goals.
- We measure progress towards these goals with appropriate student learning assessments after each learning performance.
- We use the assessments to inform our teaching strategy.
- We use the assessments to inform the improvement of materials and activities.
- We use the assessments to inform students of their progress towards their learning goals.
- We give students the assessment results to help guide their learning.
- We develop materials that are sufficiently organized and documented that they are used by other transportation engineering faculty.
- We develop materials to be easily associated with the learning objectives and concepts identified in the Content Domain Map.
- We develop materials to help students achieve at least the fourth level of understanding in Bloom's Taxonomy
- We use exams to evaluate student performance in addition to other performances.
- We use homeworks, surveys, and in-class activities to assess student learning.
